For me Christmas day with my little one who will be 13 months will be all about finger food. I want to enjoy my dinner in peace so she will be in her high chair with chunks of food to chow through while we eat in relative peace.
Broccoli florets are great for this and she LOVES them, carrot batons are another good one or cool roast potatoes.
Cheese will be on standby and chunks of turkey which she also likes.
I’ll probably give her soup around 1pm and then she will nap and by the time we sit down for dinner be all set for a snack.
If your baby is smaller though when cooking the veg set aside some and mash it with potato and milk or there’s a great reduced salt gravy you can buy which Ruby adores.
Yogurts are another handy one to have on stand by to keep them filled while you’re relaxing and chomping through that box of chocolates or umpteenth Baileys coffee -Oh I can’t wait…
